MedKeep started because managing medications in Canada was harder than it should be. We built the tool we wished existed.

How it started

A problem we all know

In 2024, one of our founders was helping an elderly parent navigate a complex medication regimen — six prescriptions, three pharmacies, and a family doctor who only had five minutes per appointment.

The existing tools were American, required subscriptions, stored data on US servers, and weren't built around how Canadian healthcare actually works. So we built MedKeep.

Free. Private. Canadian. Those were the three rules we started with and they haven't changed.

Managing your health shouldn't cost money. MedKeep's core features are free for every Canadian, forever. We may build optional paid tools for clinics and care homes, but the personal app stays free.

Private, by design
Your health data is the most personal information that exists. We encrypt everything end-to-end, store it exclusively in Canada, and have built the system so that even our own engineers cannot read your records.

Canadian, through and through
We're not a US company with a Canadian flag on our marketing page. We're registered in BC, our servers are in Canada, our team is Canadian, and we comply with Canadian law — including PIPEDA.

We're a small team based in Nelson and Vancouver, BC. We're not venture-backed or trying to flip to a US acquirer. We're building something we'd want to use ourselves.
